Pronunciation and Rookies (why we should love them) KPOP post

Hey guys,

So I was at a friend’s house last week (she doesn’t like kpop D:) and she told me she has a Korean friend who likes KPop. So I thought yay, someone fun to talk to! She began texting her friend, telling her she had another another Kpop fan here. Of course, the Kpop friend immediately asked me who I liked listening to. I listed a few….. Ok I admit it, maybe more than a few, but how can you judge me? There are so many good groups out these days that it is extremely hard to pick favourites (plus there isn’t glorious I dislike…..*cough*) I listed some classics I loved and then a couple of awesome rookies. She replied saying she liked EXO, Super Junior, Big Bang, TVXQ…..and then she said that she doesn’t really like rookie groups and finds them a bit annoying (except for EXO, apparently).

Now guys, this is where I am confused. One: Dude, EXO is still considered rookie. Two: Why you hating on rookie groups in the first place?

People like this get on my nerves. I saw a movie a couple of days ago with a friend and a kpopper saw me (‘coz I was wearing my Infinite/MBLAQ fan shirt) and started a conversation with me. I started talking to her about Infinite and EXO (because she said she likes them and she showed me her phone-over 500 pictures of EXO members O.o) and this other random girl beside her spoke up. She said she prefers the “old school” bands, such as BIGBANG and TVXQ. I kinda ignored her for a bit because the first girl showed me that she had a B.A.P badge on the side of her jacket. Props to her, it was awesome. I asked her who she liked best and she stood there going “Uhhh…..Zelo?” But she pronounced it like I in Japanese. い Like Zeeelo. Eeeeeeeee. *facepalm* I told them I liked Bang Yong Guk and the two of them said “Uh….I don’t really like him. His voice is creepy.” O.o WTH.

Anyway, my point is that I can’t stand people who hate on rookie groups or only listen to the “Oldies” kpop groups. Guys, BIGBANG, TVXQ and SuJu where all rookies at one stage. They didn’t just magically became #1 album sellers and have their faces instantly printed all across Asia. Around 6 years ago we had little rappers and singers from those bands who were considered “rookies”. Think about it, one of the rookie bands you can’t stand might turn out to be a legendary name such as Shinhwa or H.O.T. Hmmm? Hmmm?!

Yeah, anyway. I was super mad those two chics didn’t like Bang. Why?! Bang is beast. His voice is b2st. He’s amazing. He’ll be legendary, trust me guys. And dammit. It’s Zelo, the e being pronounce the Japanese way. E.E.E.E. え

Yep, here’s my rant for the post.

The Tai Fukada: An Introduction

Image

Hey guys,

this is The Tai Fukada. And this introduction is going to be extremely awkward, because even online, I’m not very good with words.

Basically, I want to be able to reach out to people who share similar interests to me. I created this blog so I can let out all my feelings to do with Asian music. I am a hard core fan of K-Pop, J-Pop, Mando-Pop, C-Pop, etc. I also love Asian rock bands. You name it, I’ll know it and be obsessed with it. My room is filled to the brim with posters. I can’t seem to remember the colour of my wall anymore. Hm…

I will be posting videos of me doing GREAT (I mean…..mediocre. Just kidding, I try very hard to make them good) dance and vocal covers of some of my favourite artists. I will also post random vlogs and posts ranting about what ever the heck I feel like. I wanna reach out to people like me who have an obsession with, obviously, the best genre of music around.

So yeah guys, this is Tai, signing out.
